Costs

Costs of Fencing:

The club has always been inclusive and stives to avoid barriers to taking up fencing. This includes cost and although our fees are low compared to most clubs, we encourage anyone who feels that cost is a barrier to themselves, or child, taking up fencing to contact us here and we will aim to help you. This will be kept confidential between our Head Coach and Welfare Officer.

Introductory Period of 4 weeks

  • £20

This introductory package includes all kit, equipment, tuition and venue

Following this period, if you would like to continue to join the Fencing Club, a full membership process will be completed, which includes joining British Fencing. The Club memebrship is £20 a month for individuals and £30 for family memberships.  All details found on membership forms.

The main fencing season runs from mid August to June.

For full membership we will ask you to set up a Standing Order Mandate for a monthly payment over the year of £20  (or ask for alternative arrangement). The standing order is simply stopped if you leave the club at any time. This will cover:

  • 2 fencing sessions a week, currently held at Gilbertson Park Hall and Brae School Games Hall.
  • Use of Club Clothing and equipment as required (except fencing breeches, see fencing kit section).

Please note: It does not cover separate trips away for events and possible small charges made for Club Competitions during the Season.

Costs of fencing kit:

The club will always be prepared to supply any fencing kit (except breeches if none available at club). Fencers are encouraged to start building up their onw kit as they become ore experienced but the club will continue to provide kit where necessary. See fencing kit
